Frequently Asked Questions
What is the process?
Pressed Floral Frames
Pressing begins as soon as we receive your FRESH bouquet. We press each flower differently depending on the type of flower. Some flowers are deconstructed and pressed by individual petals, others will be pressed whole!
They will be placed layer by layer in one of my handmade wooden presses. This process is done with the utmost care and can take up to 3 hours per bouquet depending on the size frame ordered!
Your blooms will remain in the press for at least 4 weeks to ensure they are properly dried and pressed completely flat.
Once your blooms are pulled out of the press we will design a mockup that will be sent to you for approval before the flowers are carefully assembled, glued, and framed into a frame of your choice!
Once framed, your beautiful pressed blooms will be ready to hang on your wall and be displayed for years to come!
Shadowbox Floral Frames
If you aren’t interested in your blooms being pressed completely flat, but want a 3 dimensional display of them we have the perfect solution!
This style can ONLY be done with fresh flowers, as that is the state they are preserved in. The condition we receive your flowers will dictate what the end product looks like. We carefully dry out each flower in silica to retain their shape. They will stay in the silica drying out for at least 4 weeks.
Once your blooms are pulled out of the silica we will design a mockup that will be sent to you for approval before the flowers are carefully assembled, glued, and framed into a frame of your choice!
These frames are handmade in a shadow box style with color frame options being black, white, light maple wood, dark mahogany wood and gold. We can do any background color of choice but the most common are white and black.
Once framed, your gorgeous sentimental flowers will be able to hang on your wall to be displayed for years to come!
How long does it take?
Typically, a shadowbox or pressed frame takes about 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
What can I expect of my end product?
Browning is normal and expected as a natural part of the flower’s life cycle. During the pressing / drying process the majority of the moisture is removed from the flower. Some colors hold really well and some change or fade. Below are a few examples of color changes that can be expected. We do our best to preserve the original color of your flowers while maintaining the natural beauty of the flower itself.
The better condition we receive your flowers in, the better the final product will be.
